Teaching Philosophy
This article, "What Students Remember Most About Teachers", offers a pretty good insight to how I feel about teaching.
I find it difficult to write a generic, one-fits-all teaching philosophy. So much of teaching depends on the context -- for example, I used to teach at a bilingual education center (the Spanish Education and Development Center in Washington, DC.). Even within that one institution, my teaching techniques changed whether I was working with preschoolers compared to when I was working with adult immigrants.

- They are always well-prepared for class.
- They can adapt to the needs of their students.

Life Philosophy
I am a generally happy and optimistic person, and I tend to think that most things happen for a reason (although sometimes it takes time to understand why). I also strongly believe in the quote below about loving your job. Work is such a fundamental part of daily life, so when you love it, life is good. I am fortunate enough to have loved every job I've had in life --- and there have been MANY -- so let's hope that continues.
The comic to the left can fairly accurately describe my life.

"If you find a job you love, you'll never have to work." -- Nadine Moran (my mother) and Confucius
